Praying aloud in a group is an area that is most difficult for me. The words just don't come to me. I pray to God to help me find the words before I pray aloud.

When I pray in a group, I often catch myself saying things that I think will sound good to the people in the group, rather than simply talking to God. I have to remind myself that it’s God I’m praying to, not the others around me! It really doesn’t matter what they think about what I say, I’m not saying it to them! I love praying with others, but it’s hard to make sure group prayer doesn’t turn into a performance rather than a meaningful interaction with the Lord.

Even when I find the words, they just don't come out. I have great difficulty speaking in a group. I guess I worry that what I say isn't going to sound intelligent or I suppose sound unimpressive.
